The face behind Squamish Birth Services

I’m Katia, and I am a born & raised Squamish local - a rare find nowadays. I was even born at Squamish General Hospital! I have lived here all my life, and watched the exponential growth of our not-so-little town! The secret is out, and it's brought so many wonderful new people, businesses, and opportunities for connection.

I practice as a Birth Doula in the Sea to Sky. I began attending births in 2012. They say when you find your true calling, you will just know. Well needless to say, I KNOW! It is so fulfilling for me to support families through all the transitions associated with growing a family.

The countless questions and thoughts throughout pregnancy. Body changes. Different symptoms in each trimester. Wondering if what you’re experiencing is normal.

The feeling of “how the heck do I get this baby out of me!?”

Your partners fears of “how do I support in the best way during this birth?”

The fears and preconceived notions that you’ve unconsciously inherited from those around you.

The decisions surrounding feeding your baby.

Where and how your baby is going to sleep.

How to nourish yourself during the postpartum period.

As a doula, I help folks navigate all of this, and SO much more.

In my business, I bring many of my own life experiences, and they all give me the unique ability to meet my clients where they're at, and give unbiased, non-judgmental support.

I feel the importance of cultivating a tight-knit community, especially in the vulnerable time that goes with pregnancy, birth, and beyond.
